First of all without this album, Heritage would sound different and it would be another prog death metal album, and maybe the first to be mediocre. That said, let's begin with the most underrated Opeth prog death metal album, I still don't understand why this album did not got the same praise as the past Opeth album, all reviews where positive, but in my opinion it deserves the same level of respect of the other Opeth albums. It has the beautiful intro, next it has the brutal Heir Apparent, then you have the first masterpiece called The Lotus Eater, followed by another masterpiece 'Burden', then the heartbraking Porcelain Heart and THEN what I think its the best Opeth song, Hessian Peel, and it finishes with another perfect song, Hex Omega. But let's talk about Hessian Peel, as you know, I love Opeth because its a perfect mix between brutality and beauty, and this song is the best example of it, just 11 minutes of Opeth style in steroids. But let's not forget how fkin well sounds The Lotus Eater and Burden. (Oh and the bonus tracks of the Special Edition, thoose 3 covers are cool af, a must listen too).
★★★★★ 𝕹𝖊𝖆𝖗𝖑𝖞 𝖕𝖊𝖗𝖋𝖊𝖈𝖙 An underrated LP.
-Best songs: All of them but Porcelain Heart the worst one.
-Worst songs: ¿?
